Mission Possible: A Custom Wood Media Console in Mission Style
Finding a high-quality, solid wood, media console made in the USA and designed for high-end AV gear is not easy. It is even tougher when you have very specific sizing and style requirements. Such was the case for a recent customer from Connecticut. She sought a mission/arts and craft style, solid wood media console that would fit her audio-video equipment, fit her space, and fit with her other room furnishings. Mission accepted!
Naturally, we built into this handcrafted, solid wood media console all of the AV features that our audiophile customers love. It features a large center channel speaker shelf, dovetail media storage drawers, removable back panels, and numerous internal wire runs, plus vents in the bottom, adjustable shelves, and back panels.
If you look close enough at this back view, you will also notice the concealed wheels that allow the console to be moved forward and backward when access to the rear is needed. Hidden wheels, removable back panels, and multiple inside wire runs make gear management a snap.
In this shot, you can see the form, function, and beauty of this custom media console's media storage drawers. Handcrafted dovetail joinery, top-notch ball-bearing drawer slides, and (re)movable drawer dividers to maximize utility. Store DVDs, CDs, Blu Ray discs, games, controllers, and more.
A Final Thought
Prospective customers sometimes ask questions like, "Can you really ship this custom piece of furniture clear across the country?" The answer is yes. The reason is the care we put into packing our handcrafted furniture for transportation. Our customers patiently wait weeks for us to complete their custom pieces. The last thing we want is for them to wait while we build their one-of-kind furniture a second time. The photo below should put anyone's mind at ease. As one person put it, B & A Woodworks crates are better built than some of the competing furniture out there!
